About Enhanced CD

Enhanced CD is a new technology that provides the ability to include both audio as well as video on the same audio disc.

Enhanced CD is an effective means of communication as this new format involving both audio and video invokes a complete multimedia experience that extends beyond the traditional means of audio only listening pleasure. Access to the video or multimedia portion on the Enhanced CD is administered through a computer with a CD-ROM drive.

Why should I buy Enhanced CD ?
Enhanced CD allows the user to enjoy the music which was the essence behind the purchase but as additional bonus, provides the user with a ‘behind the scenes’ look at additional interesting thematic concepts presented via video, multimedia and web content, all from the same disc.

How is Enhanced CD different from a CD-ROM ?
The primary focus of an Enhanced CD is predominatly the music, which was the essence behind the purchase. However, using today's latest technology, we are able to include video and audio on the same disc to bring you the additional multimedia content, as bonus material. And therefore, an Enhanced CD is played on a CD player for the music content and played on a computer for the multimedia content. A CD-ROM, on the other hand can only be played on a computer but and not on a CD player.

How do I know its Enhanced CD?
Enhanced CDs from Rhyme Records include a marking (see below) on the traycard (back side of the CD) that clearly indicate, if the disc is an audio only or an Enhanced CD.

What kind of computer is needed to play Rhyme Records Enhanced CD?
Any Windows based computer with a CD-ROM drive is adequate. Any computer using OS/2, Unix or Amiga will not run Enhanced CDs.

What are the system requirements to play Enhanced CD on a computer?
Atleast 4MB to 6MB of free RAM and a double-speed or faster CD-ROM drive. Windows 95 or greater is recommended.

Do I need anything special to see videos on my Enhanced CD?
QuickTime, as manufactured by Apple Computers, Inc., for the Windows platform is required to run Enhanced CDs from Rhyme Records.
