The
senior-most disciple of the Tabla maestro, Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri, Subhen
Chatterjee has established himself as one of the finest young Tabla players of
India today. Without restricting himself solely to the art of Tabla playing,
Subhen has expanded his talent by creating a Fusion Orchestra group called
Karma. Subhen has collaborated with such eminent artists as Paul Horn and David
Cosby and is also a performing artist for the World Organization of Music and
Dance (WOMAD) founded by Peter Gabriel.

Chatterjee has been accompanying legendary artists such as Pandit Bhimsen
Joshi, Pandit Jasraj, Pandit V.G. Jog, Smt. Girija Devi, Smt. Sobha Gurtu, Smt.
Joya Biswas, Shahid Parvez, Buddhaditya Mukherjee, Rashid Khan, Viswa Mohan
Bhatt, Aashish Khan and a host of others in international recordings and in
concerts throughout the world.
