The
acknowledged premier Shehnai maestro hails from a family of distinguished
musicians with the Late Ustad Wazir Khan being his grandfather. Ali Ahmad
Hussain's training in Shehnai started under the guidance of his uncle, the Late
Ustad Nazir Hussain and also under the guidance of the Late Ustad Imdad
Hussain.
Having
established himself as a distinguished Shehnai player, Ali Ahmad has
extensively toured the globe performing at eminent occasions. His music can be
heard on commercial recordings as well as playback music on several Indian
films. He has been bestowed with numerous awards including the prestigious
Tansen Samaro award.
Ustad
Ali Ahmad Hussain Khan is currently a senior artist affiliated with the
prestigious All India Radio. His rendition - soft, subtle yet sweet has earned
him a distinct place as a Shehnai maestro in India.
